General decline in strength and mobility doesn't happen over night.
We could compare it to nutrition. The odd junk food dinner, the body can probably deal with, but if that's all we're eating, our health will suffer sooner or later. On the other hand, if we make better choices like healthier foods, adding movement into our day and being mindful of our mental wellbeing, we can be happy and healthy into old age. Unfortunately, our priorities are often elsewhere as we're getting pulled into many directions at the same time. Oftentimes, the busier our lives, the less time and attention is paid to our health and wellbeing. Which of course is detrimental. |
These days, we can exercise whenever and wherever (sort of) we want but do we? Isn't it easier to say we'll do it another time?
Well, that's why it's so helpful to have someone who keeps you accountable and takes you through a session that is at the level and pace that's right for you. Not just in general but also depending on the day. Pilates can be adapted to be a tough workout or a calming mindfulness practice. Or a bit of both. Curious? I offer a 60 minute taster session, so we can go though a session and see if it's something you would like to continue with - who knows, you might even begin to enjoy exercising :) |
