1:1 / 2:1 Sessions are for you if:


...You're new to Pilates

and you want to be able to do the basic Pilates exercises and develop the confidence to join a group class.
In the first six sessions, you will learn the Pilates fundamentals whilst being able to ask questions.

​Together we make sure that you are doing the exercises correctly and I will encourage you to develop the tools for self-correction. Where needed, I will offer modifications to take into account old injuries or address other common issues such as weak wrists, lack of upper body strength, muscle stiffness,  poor balance or lower back pain.

​All of the above can improve with regular Pilates sessions.

During your 1:1 sessions, you will learn the basics of Pilates and how to apply them in class and in your everyday life.

and you need to fit in the sessions around your work and responsibilities.

You know that exercise can improve your energy levels and productivity but if it's not in the calendar it will not happen. I will stand on your door step and put you through your paces. But just so you know, Pilates is not a HIIT class or a bootcamp style workout. 

Pilates is mindful exercise that can be tough and very challenging but it can also be calming and nurturing. Together we'll find the balance that's right for you and your goals.

You are someone who makes the healthy choices now for your future you to reap the benefits. You know that the way to staying happy and healthy into your more advanced years starts with making the right choices now, including nutrition & hydration, sleep, stress management, community, and physical strength & mobility.  

My approach to all of these factors is holistic yet practical. I encourage you to be kind to yourself whilst appreciating the hard work that this can entail. I hold you accountable for the things you feel are important to you. And I will always remind you that sometimes we can ask more of ourselves whilst on other days we need to take things easy.

Some of my clients want to be challenged to their limits and then enjoy a few moments of calm at the end of the session, some of my clients enjoy a gentle flow, whilst others need to address specific issues and I will emphasise the underlying day-to-day habits that can help or hinder recovery, and I offer exercises for self practice in between sessions.

Physical limitations don't just happen one day

Unless, of course, there's been an accident.

But the general decline in strength and mobility doesn't happen over night.
You could compare it to nutrition. The odd junk food dinner, the body can probably deal with unscathed, but if that's all you're eating, chances are your health will suffer sooner or later. You will suffer sooner or later.


It's the same with movement; muscles get so short and weak due to everyday underuse that they will restrict your ability to move and cope with everyday activities sooner or later.

This is not a predetermined script. It's your choice how this will play out. If you look after your physical and mental wellbeing, you immensely increase your chances at being of healthy mind and body today and in the future.

I offer home visits where suitable and within reasonable distance from Hither Green, South East London (Lee, Ladywell, Brockley, Lewisham, Catford, Blackheath).

You will need a bit of clean &  tidy space, in your front room for example, where you can lie on the floor and make a "snow angel" without bumping into furniture. 


If you prefer to have the sessions at the studio in Hither Green, please indicate this when booking. This option will incur an extra charge and is subject to availability.
