Notes on how to set up your space & device for your session
How tos (updated):
If you're allowing video
- find a suitable location
- wear suitable exercise clothes, ideally not all black for contrast
- if possible position your camera at a slightly elevated angle so that the camera is looking down towards you (easiest with a laptop but can be otherwise achieved with some props)
- avoid having the light behind you
- do not use a virtual background as it does not work well with movement
A few points about being on camera which most of us aren't so very keen on:
Please don't feel pressured to keep the camera on if you feel uncomfortable but maybe a few points to remember;
- everyone is in the same boat
- everyone is much more focused on what they are doing instead of staring at someone else
- seeing that others are there as well gives us that feeling of community
- I can see what's going on (to some extend at least depending on the set up)
- I don't record the sessions for exactly that reason
- if you chose "speaker view" you will see me in the main window
In general:
- if possible have your device plugged in
- switch off (or mute) notifications
- switch off the screen saver or battery saving mode.
- be in a good WiFi spot
- Do not record the meeting
- Do not let others join in
- make sure you are using a suitable space
- if your connection drops, simply join back in using the same link
- please join the meeting 5 minutes before the class starts, in case of any technical issues
- if you want to have a quick chat in private before/after the class, please email me the day before.
- if you're using a different log-in name, please let me know that that's you!
Should you have any questions at all, please do ask.
