You would like to join the class but may be thinking...

*But I'm not flexible!*
And you don't have to be flexible to do Pilates.  You may become more aware of your current range of movement and the exercises will gently encourage an exploration which often leads to greater range of motion and freedom of movement.

*But my balance is awful!*
So, let's do something about that. The online sessions will be floor based, so no standing on one foot or balancing on our tip toes as we do in the studio sessions but we can still strengthen the muscles that support us which will lead to better balance.

*I have a weak core*
Then starting Pilates is great for you! Nearly all the exercises we do in these sessions will strengthen your core. The other ones will focus on general strength, awareness and mobility.

*I tried Pilates but the breathing is sooo difficult, I just couldn't do it and gave up.*
The breathing is only one aspect of Pilates and for me, in the beginning I'm delighted if you simply remember to breathe. The breathing patterns will make sense once you're familiar with the exercises.

*What if I don't like it?*
Pilates often needs a few sessions to get into it. It's a bit like that Netflix series everyone is going on about but you don't quite understand it watching the first few episodes but then you get into the characters and story line and tell all your friends to watch it too.
Pilates can be a similar thing for many (me included!). You won't know unless you try it.
Time to move, breathe and be mindful.

We will cover essentials such as:

-       The basic Pilates exercises you will come across in most classes
-       Correct Posture
-       The Neutral Spine Position
-       The Breathing
-       How Pilates can be helpful in your everyday life
The Beginners Classes are a great way to learn the basics of the Pilates technique if you have never done any Pilates before or if you started in general classes and never really got to grips with the essentials because they were never really taught in detail.

This class is at an easy to follow pace, covering the basics to enable you to safely and effectively make the most of your Pilates classes and reap the benefits of this exercise method.

Without this foundation to your Pilates practice you are missing valuable information about how to perform an exercise correctly, how to self correct, and how to push yourself safely.

These classes are suitable for healthy women and men (aged 16-60).
If you have any medical issues, such as joint or muscular problems, recent or old injuries, or pregnancy,
please contact me before making your booking.

NO NEED TO BE FIT OR FLEXIBLE :)
